Saturday was Megan's performance day at gymnastics. They call it the Gold Medal Day. Phil took Makena and Everett up on the bleachers to watch the performance and I went out on the floor with Megan.
The kids came out onto the floor waving and then followed arrows through a circuit. Here is Megan on the balance beam...
Doing the possum hang...
And getting help on the bar with Mr. Jeff.
She did a big ta-da after Mr. Jeff gave her the gold medal.
Here is another ta-da!
Megan has loved gymnastics this year. She also really loved Mr. Jeff. All of the kids love Mr. Jeff. Everett would follow him when we were in class. He wanted his undivided attention. Megan has been asking to take dance in the fall so this may be the end of gymnastics for now.
They had a fun carnival set up outside of gymnastics. The carnival was a fundraiser for the dance team so you had to purchase tickets to do the different activities. Unfortunately, Phil and I are both pretty bad about keeping cash on us. We are definitely debit and credit card people. We were able to scrounge up $1.50 between us so the girls could split a snow cone. They actually did a good job sharing it. When we took them home Phil blew up our big bounce house so the girls could jump. He told them it was bigger than the one at the carnival anyway. :)
Here are a few other random pictures....
We made crayons this week! We tried the solar melting method but despite the 94 degree heat the wouldn't melt enough outside so we ended up finishing them off in the oven. We put all of our broken crayon bits in cute cookie cutters to make fun shapes.
These are now Megan's favorite crayons.
Megan looks awfully good on the balance beam and doing her possum hang. It is nice to have athletes in the family. Olympics, anyone?
