We had a fun Thanksgiving here at home. My parents and Laurie and Pat came over for an dinner. I had seen these cute ice cream cone tee pees on Pinterest and thought they would make a fun dessert for the kids. I knew they wouldn't care for the pumpkin pie. I'll just say these tee pees weren't as easy to make as you would think. There is cake inside and you're supposed to poke holes in a disposable cake pan to get them to stand while baking. It doesn't work. I'm glad I put a sheet pan underneath because I would have had a very messy oven. I'm glad I could salvage 3 of them!
This year I used one of Ina Garten's recipe's for our turkey. It turned out great!
Finley enjoyed some tummy time before dinner. We love our sweet baby girl.
It's hard to suck your thumb when your lying on your tummy.
Our turkeys!!
Our only Thanksgiving day snafu did not involve any part of our dinner. I noticed it while monitoring our dinner in the kitchen. Makena, Megan and Everett had all been going back and forth playing downstairs and then back upstairs. Megan had just came back down and was sitting on the couch watching the parade. She glanced over at me and I stopped what I was doing and walked around the counter to her. At this point she has covered her head and is trying to hide. Once she raised her head my fears were confirmed. While upstairs, Megan had cut some very short bangs for herself. She also took a big chunk out of one side. It looked awful! I asked her why she did it and she said, "My hair is always in my face." I asked her if she liked the way her hair looked and at first she said yes. Then I took her to look in a mirror and she changed her answer. However now she could really care less. I don't think she even thinks about it. I took her to Snip It's the next day but there really wasn't a lot they could do. Hopefully it will grow quickly! I had thought she was past this stage.
