Summer Fun

I've been trying to keep the big kids entertained as much as I can this summer. Most of our time is still spent indoors because it's just too hot for a little baby.

A couple of weeks ago, we finally took the kids to the new indoor trampoline park. They loved it! Phil was with me for this trip, thank goodness!
Makena and Megan took semi-private swimming lessons at our neighborhood pool. I was so happy they were willing to take them. Makena had a traumatic experience with swimming lessons a couple of years ago and has been pretty unwilling to try lessons again. They both agreed after a lot of encouragement from Phil and I. They had a lot of fun and I think It helped a lot with the fear factor.

This is the face Megan gave me for our first pic...
This was shot #2 after I showed Megan her silly face on the camera. She wanted a chance to redeem herself.
I very nervously took all 4 kids by myself to the Greensboro Children's Museum to check out the new Volvo truck. Obviously, this trip was primarily geared toward making Everett happy but the girls liked it, too.
The girls said there was a bed and TV inside the cab. It sounds like they donated one of the nice, new trucks!
Everett really liked the race car!
And all 3 of the big kids enjoyed the news room this time. Makena was working "behind the scenes."
The wild man has been something else this summer. He loves his little sister and wants to hold her quite a bit.  He's always very good about sitting down and scooting all the way back on the couch. He will cover her with a blanket and give her kisses....a lot of kisses. And will say, "baby cute." But he is still often a handful and acts like a two year old. In the picture below, he had just grabbed the water hose after we were watering the tomatoes. He started pointing it at people and finally at the ceiling so it rained down all over the place. And all the time he was laughing wildly. How boring our lives would be without this boy.
His naps are still few and far between. When he does nap it's usually because he's fallen asleep in the car or in the middle of a tantrum in a random spot. At least he fell asleep on the couch this time. A couple of weeks ago he fell asleep in the kitchen floor in front of the refrigerator. :)
Here are a few old Finley pictures from my phone. She was about 2 weeks old in this one. She's so tiny!

This was Finley at one month. Her cheeks are starting to fill out!
