Fancy Nancy Camp

Megan recently went to the Fancy Nancy Camp at our Children's Museum. It was the summer camp that she most wanted to attend and she was very excited for it to begin. Each day had a different theme and they read different Fancy Nancy books and did activities that went along with it. Monday's theme was "puppy love." They chose a stuffed puppy and made a beaded collar for it. On Tuesday they had manicures and pedicures to go along with their "Happy Feet" theme. On Wednesday, they were "Aspiring Artists" and made a Jackson Pollock art collage. Then it was Tea Party Thursday followed by Fashion Show Friday. Each day they had snacks and lunch at the museum. And they sang songs, played games, did arts and crafts and played throughout the museum. Megan had a great time and had a new best friend early on into the first day.
Each day, the other three kids and I, stayed and played for a little while after dropping Megan off at camp.
We would often have a Megan sighting while we were playing. Sometimes she would see us and sometimes it was fun to be a fly on the wall.
We enjoyed story time on Friday and got to play one last time with Addison and Hudson before they moved away.
Megan's fashion show was really cute. They had made necklaces, crowns and tutus to wear (Megan kept talking about the "tulle" they used to make the skirts.)
They talked about what they had done all week and then danced and sang to a couple of songs.
Here is everyone showing off their manicures. Their Jackson Pollock splatter painting is in the background.
Makena made an outfit out of a paper bag that week, as well. They love The Paper Bag Princess book. She said she wanted to make her bag look "first grade-y" and drew different school themed things all over the bag. She's also used the "first grade-y" term to describe the kind of clothes she wants to look for when we go back to school shopping. Such a silly girl. :)
