Atlanta Part One

We knew a beach trip wouldn't be reasonable this summer with little Finley. And although we've done plenty this summer, I didn't want the girls going back to school without being able to say they had really done something. So I planned a weekend trip to Atlanta. I made reservations at the Alpharetta Marriott because they had a fun American Girl package. The girls referred to the Marriott as the "American Girl hotel." Makena and Megan had already been given American Girls so we took them along for all the AG fun.

Our hotel had a special check-in for the girls staying with the American Girl package. Notice the pink rope and rug.
The lady behind the desk told them to walk down the carpet giving their fanciest wave.
A lot of the stuff was cheesy but the girls ate it up. Notice the pink steps, pink lamp and the American Girl on the right. Makena and Megan entered into a drawing to win her. Phil and I agreed that if we won the drawing we actually lost because we would then need to buy another American Girl. :)
Makena and Megan each received a special personalized letter from the hotel manager welcoming them to the hotel. The letter also mentioned their dolls by name. Both girls got a lollipop and tickets to see the American Girl movie they would be showing there at the hotel. Makena and Megan also got special "credit cards" they could use to buy a special treat in the hotel gift shop. Here they are signing their cards on the back "just like mommy does."
We had adjoining rooms and the girls room was all done up in pink. Pink pillows, duvets, towels and trashcans. They even switched out the alarm clock.
Makena and Megan each got an American Girl bed to keep and robes for their girls and themselves to wear while there. The hotel has a special planner for this package that took the girls' sizes and dolls names before we arrived.
We also had milk and cookies (for girls and their dolls) brought to the room both nights we were there. As you can see, we requested an extra order for Everett.
The robes were worn pretty much the entire time we were in the room. :)
They loved having their own room! Everett slept with us and Finley was in pack in play.
The next morning we were off to breakfast!

I knew Makena and Megan's eyes would be as wide as saucers when we walked into that store. In a way to prevent them for asking for everything in the store I got them disposable cameras to document their wish list. They looked like tiny paparazzi! :)
Lucky for Everett these cars were right outside the door. He had to try one out before breakfast.
Makena and Megan each ordered hot chocolate.
For Christmas, the girls received a piece of furniture for their dolls that came with an earring holder. The dolls have to have their ears pierced to wear earrings so decided to have them pierced at the store.
Holding their dolls with their newly pierced ears...
There may be a girls trip in a few years to bring little Finley back to the American Girl store.
Makena and Megan rushed out to tell Daddy about their fun experience!
Makena and Megan each got a new outfit for their dolls, a dog and it's accessories. It will be interesting to see the pictures they took in the store. I'm sure there were a few of the $350 car. :)

Here is Everett chilling in the hotel room on the pink beanbag chair. Luckily we took him at an age when he could care less about all of the pink!
