Makena created a new super hero with the boppy and nursing cover....Super Mommy!
On the 3rd, Carol took Phil, Laurie and I out to dinner at Ryan's.
Phil was off on the fourth....thank goodness. He had just had a busy call weekend and we all needed him to be off! He grilled ribs and chicken for dinner. Laurie and Pat came over as did Phil's partner Steve and his two sons. The girls had fun chasing Steve and his boys around the yard. Phil took the three big kids over to participate in our neighborhood parade. Here are Makena and Megan ready to go.
Finley and I dropped them off and then waited for them in the air conditioned car. :)
I think the girls were telling Phil to hurry up here. :)
As you can see Everett didn't stay in his little car for very long. He ended up on Phil's shoulders and one of our friends ended up pushing it.
There was a fire truck leading the parade.
Here they come!
The kids (Megan especially) were very interested in seeing fireworks. Phil and I weren't really excited about loading the whole crew up and getting stuck in traffic or setting out in the heat so he went out and bought some. The Deonanans and the Lockes walked over to watch the big show.
Fireworks make me so nervous! I was the one that suggested having the water hose nearby.
