Today was the first day, in over a week, that both of the girls were well enough to go on an outing. It was so nice to get out of the house and do something! We went with a group we're apart of to Baptist hospital (AKA "Daddy's work) to see the AirCare helicopter. It was raining, which was actually a good thing for us. The helicopter doesn't fly when it rains so there wasn't a chance they would get called out during our visit. They had it parked in the garage where it was nice and dry. We got to talk to the pilot and a couple of the nurses that work on AirCare. They told us a little about what they do and answered some of our questions. They were all super nice.
They both got to sit inside the helicopter but Megan got out as soon as she got in.
They loved the deacon on the back of the helicopter!
Makena and Megan were super excited to go to "Daddy's work." They've been before, it's just not a place we go often. Usually we wouldn't be able to see Phil because he's stuck in the operating room all day. Luckily, he had a free moment and was able to come and say hello. He also had on his "doctor's costume" (doctor's coat) which Makena liked. We were only able to hang out for a couple of minutes but that was okay. The girls were just happy to be able to see Daddy where he works. They didn't know I was taking this picture. I thought it was just too cute to pass up.
The girls wanted to do something after we left the hospital and they picked Chuck E. Cheese. I would usually avoid this place at all cost because it's been insane every time we've been. We must have picked the perfect time to go because it was super slow. I could count on one hand how many other families were there. Makena and Megan are still too little for most of the games but they don't care. They can have the worst score possible and the game will still spit out a bunch of tickets and make them feel like a winner. We ate some pizza and had a great time playing games.
Here they are with their winnings: tootsie pops and Chuck E. Cheese balloons! Megan kept saying, "Chuck E. Cheese is flying!"
