Makena had her first soccer game last weekend. I honestly don't know what the score was. (Is that bad?) But that is what happens when there are 2 other children to keep up with. She had a lot of fun and looked adorable out on the field. She is playing for the Commodores and is on the same team as her friends, Jack, Addison and Ella.
Makena made contact with the ball a few times but wasn't really interested in fighting for the ball. She was content to skip around the field and follow the herd and the ball. She had a grin on her face the whole time. Here is the best picture I have of the skipping...
When did this kid get so grown up?
She got two patches at the end of the game. Everyone who played got a patch and a few others were given an additional patch for participation. Way to go, Makena!
After Makena's soccer game, we headed straight to BB&T field to tailgate for the WF/Duke football game. It was our first game of the season since we missed the Wake/Presbyterian game. Wake ended up beating Duke 54-48. Phil was on call and had to leave early on in the game. The kids and I also left during the game because it started raining. But at least the game was televised so we could finish watching the game at home. Here are some pics from the tailgate and game...
