After moving out of our house, we have done quite a bit of traveling and staying with family as we've waited for our house to finish being built. I don't think I have done enough picture taking or blogging considering the whirlwind that this past month and a half have been. Here are a few things we've been up to:
Everett tried rice cereal for the first time! He wasn't quite sure what to make of it.
We ate dinner with Nana and Popaw at Cracker Barrel....at least a a couple of times.
We also went to Phil's hometown, Hampton, Virgina for a few days. Phil's brother, Zane, organized a charity golf tournament if their mother's memory. There were a lot of friends and family in town for the tournament and it was great to see everyone. I wish I had taken more pictures while we were in Hampton! We went to a cookout at the Messersmiths our first night there. Phil's friend Obaid, and his family, also came over to play. Makena and Megan had a great time playing with Obaid's little girls. We told the kids that the kiddie pool and sprinkler was Water Country USA. :)
Here are the guys: Obaid, Zane, Phil and Jason
And the ladies with the kids...
We took the girls to ride the antique carousel in downtown Hampton.
Who is that shy girl behind that big mop of hair?
While we were in Hampton, our good friends Courtney and Beck came to see us! They had just moved from Winston-Salem to Richmond and we had already started to miss them! :) Even though we just played at the hotel pool, we had a great time seeing them!
Peekaboo, I see you! The kiddos were hiding under a table in our hotel room.
We had dinner at Obaid's house before we left Hampton. Here are Obaid, Phil and Chuck
With all of the driving around we have done the past month and a half there has been a lot of this going on...
Everett is growing so fast! Everett the frog got packed away with our house so I haven't been able to do our picture for months 4 and 5. He is wearing mostly 12 month clothes and they usually fit him very well. He isn't crawling yet. But he pivots around on his belly and can wiggle around a little bit. He is still as happy as can be and has been spoiled rotten by his sisters and cousins who have carried him around all summer. He is playing with toys now and loves his links. We are totally in the oral stage. He will try to put everything in his mouth and is chewing on everything. He doesn't have any teeth yet but I wouldn't be surprised if one broke through any day!
We have been staying with my father-in-law the past few weeks. He has a boston terrier named, Coco, who I'm sure will love to see us go. Coco was napping when Megan tried to make a little bed for herself next to her.
I should be able to take some more pictures of the new house soon. We move in on Wednesday! We can't wait!
