Makena's Birthday

Makena's actual birthday fell on pajama day at preschool. We took Krispy Kremes and bananas as a special treat. Here she is in the science center with her friend, Brock.
I asked Makena if there was anything special she wanted to do on her birthday. She decided she wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese. So after preschool that's where we headed. Our friends the Evans and the Stangers met us there.
Makena and Megan really got into this game...

 They're totally not cheating. :)
When we got home I let the girls open their gifts. Megan got a little something, too, just so she wouldn't be left out.
Makena had asked for a magic set a while back and I found one at Michaels for $14.99. After doing a little research I discovered that you can pay a ton of money for a magic set. I figure that if she's still interested in magic next year upgrade her set. :)
I let Makena decide what we would do for dinner. She chose Midtown Cafe and Dessertery aka "the caterpillar place." Makena and Megan love their caterpillar shaped pancakes.
 Licking the candles...:)
At Makena's birthday party, we had asked our party guests to bring donations for Make A Wish in lieu of gifts. We collected many miscellaneous items as well as around $250 in gift cards and checks. We were happy to help such a great cause! When we dropped of the donations the regional director was super nice and gave the girls and I t-shirts and Everett a big teddy bear. Makena was excited to wear and model her new t-shirt!
I can't believe how fast Makena is growing up! We're starting to get stuff sent home from preschool about signing up for kindergarten....which I can't believe! I think I'm going to start a support group for moms of kindergarteners as I am going to be a complete mess when she starts. Makena you are such a beautiful, sweet, intelligent, creative, good girl! We love you very much!
