Beaufort & Atlantic Beach Adventures

I have gotten pretty behind with my blogging. We have done many, many fun things since my last post. Bear with me as I try to catch up. The day after the vascular picnic we went to the beach with the other finishing fellow, Ross, and his wife Mary Anna. We stayed at my father-in-law's beach house and with our friends George and Lisal. We got here fairly late but had to go put our toes in the sand before we went to bed. This is Everett's first picture on the beach on Radio Island.
The next day we took everyone for a ride on the blue boat. All babies hate life jackets.
It was a pretty windy day so we just cruised up and down Front St. in Beaufort. Phil's dad grew up on Front St. What a gorgeous place to grow up!

Our fearless captain!
He forgot his hat and had to buy one at a gas station. Great choice, don't you think?

Phil and I took Everett out to the adult dinner at William's in Morehead City.

We went out to Shackleford Banks on George's beautiful new boat, The Analgesic. He is a surgeon and his wife, Lisal, is a dentist and I think the name of the boat is perfect. The boat definitely does help make the pain go away. :) Here is Everett enjoying the beach on Shackleford Banks
We had a special treat while visiting Shackleford Banks! We were eating lunch on the beach when the wild horses walked up and started eating grass right behind us. It was so exciting! If you click on the pictures you can see them on the grass in the background.
Hooray again for Ross and Phil finishing their fellowship!! For Phil it was 4 years of undergrad, 4 years of med school, 5 years of general surgery, 1 research year and 2 years of fellowship. That is 16 years of education after high school! Incredible! There was only one other guy at Baptist who had been training longer than Phil.

We were able to meet up with Phil's cousin Ann Pryor and her kids in Morehead City before we left. Here are Charlotte and Preston. Aren't they cute?
All of the kids together...
