The weekend after Thanksgiving we took the kids to Bryson City to ride the Polar Express. My dad and I had taken the girls a couple of years ago and they were really looking forward to going again. Afterward we stopped in Asheville and spent one night in a hotel. I think they were equally excited about staying in the hotel. I'm not sure what they find so fun about hotels but they'll occasionally ask, "When are we going to stay in a hotel again?" :)
We went earlier in the year than we did last time and I'm glad we did because it was much warmer. The kids had clothes on under their pajamas but didn't need their coats, which was nice. Last time we were all freezing despite having layers under pajamas and big coats on. Everett has recently become a big Daddy's boy, which is fine with me. Whenever Phil is around you'll usually find Everett with him.
Their tickets!
Megan had to bring Snowball along.
Makena reading The Polar Express story...
Hot chocolate!!
And cookies! This was Everett's favorite part!
Makena and Megan were so excited to see Santa. And they loved getting a bell from him just like the boy did in the story and movie.
The kids had so much fun riding the train to the North Pole, seeing Santa and singing Christmas Carols in their pajamas.
